After the Smithsonian Institute asked us to give a two-hour lecture on “Travel Hacking 101: How to Travel Longer for Less,” it inspired us to create this resource hub for the audience we value most…our HoneyTrek community! Covering all the major topics of global travel…finances, flights, accommodations, and essential travel resources, we took a deep dive into how we’ve afforded so many awesome global experiences. Spoiler alert, we are not trust fund babies, we’re expert travel hackers. With a goal of traveling around the world on a year-long honeymoon back in 2012, we studied from the best and have successfully put those lessons into practice in what is now a 13-year nomadic life of exploration.

Travel Insurance
If you’ll be traveling multiple times a year (and we hope you do), it’s a no-brainer to get annual travel insurance. For as little as $125 (and not much more for a couple), Allianz Global Assistance will cover you for medical emergencies, trip interruptions, cancelations, theft, lost baggage, and just about anything that could go awry on the road. We love their breadth of coverage, incredible customer service, and peace of mind so much that even became brand ambassadors for them.

If you’re the kind of person that’s too savvy for a travel agent but a little too busy to sift through the thousands of TripAdvisor reviews, HoneyTrek Trip Planning is your fast ticket to epic travel experiences. Having explored all seven continents and traveled full-time for 13 years, we can recommend the best places from first-hand experience. We’re all about sustainable travel without sacrificing luxury, genuine local connections, unique accommodations, and getting off the tourist track for one-of-a-kind travel experiences.
