While we continue building out HoneyTrek we will answer a few basic things:

Q: What is HoneyTrek?
A: HoneyTrek is our slightly delayed (we got married March 12, 2011) honeymoon trip around the world. The plan is to go places too far to visit while we have a job and too rugged to do when we’re old. Don’t try to see everything; move slowly but thoroughly. Have a plan to guide us but don’t let an itinerary bog us down. If we love a place, we’ll get to know it, meeting locals and living the local way. We not trying to change the world but we’d like help where we can.

That said, this is an E.B.White quote that rings very true to our hearts:

“I arise in the morning torn between a desire to change the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it very hard to plan each day”
E.B.White

We hope that our HoneyTrek allows us to do both: Experience so many amazing people/places/foods/animals/environments/music/architecture/art/ideas and at the same time volunteer and constantly brainstorm how we can apply our skill sets to make the world an amazing/loving/peaceful/self-sustaining/smiling place.

Q: Where will you be going?
A: While we are leaving our trip pretty open-ended and not making many hard and fast plans, here is our loose itinerary:

– Brazil
– Argentina
– Uruguay
– Chile
– Peru
– Bolivia

What an awesome plan! We married and honeymooned for one month on a cruise around South America. There is a geocache called “Fin del Mundo” in Ushuaia at the end of the world, and you must tango in Buenos Aires…stop in at Cafe Tortoni for the authentic experience. The national tango school is right upstairs. If you’ve got the cash, fly over the Nazca Lines out of Pisco, Peru.

    1. #1. We LOVE geocaching, will be doing that all over the world. #2. tango in BA for sure! oh are the nazca lines those huge geometric shapes in the desert formed with rocks forever ago?
