Virtually everyone has an “Alaska Cruise” on their bucket list and, as a result, mega-ships dominate the market. With such a wild landscape, we wanted to show people a more adventurous and sustainable way to explore the fjords, archipelagos, and surrounding rainforest. The HoneyTrek community trusts us to choose environmentally-minded tour operators that know how to have fun, so UnCruise was the perfect choice. Speaking to a younger demographic and also the RV community who rarely takes to the sea, we showed a new audience how epic small-ship cruising can be. Seizing every opportunity to kayak, stay up late to watch the northern lights, bushwhack the rainforest, and take the Pacific polar plunge, we did our best to capture the Alaskan spirit of adventure. Through our photography, video, blog, and social media posts across all platforms, we reached 634,984 people and engaged 84,674 fans with content that would make any traveler want to hop on an UnCruise.
Below is a sampling of the 88 pieces of content we created for UnCruise across HoneyTrek’s website and social media platforms (with 333,000+ followers).

Our @UnCruise adventure begins in Sitka–Alaska's first capital! From their National Historic Park’s Totem Trail, 19th-century Russian Orthodox Cathedral, to the fisherman bars, the city is a beautiful mashup of cultures & perfect kickoff to the week! #Sponsored #UnCruise pic.twitter.com/zqvsI9JtIk— HoneyTrek (@HoneyTrek) September 1, 2019
Cruising & sustainability don’t often go together, but @UnCruise is thinking about the environment at every turn. Earning their spot in PVA's "Green WATERS" program, they work hard to reduce fuel consumption, limit single-use plastics, conserve energy, & practice #LNT. #sponsored pic.twitter.com/iDa3f7qNhB

Your mom told you not to eat wild berries, but in the rainforests of Alaska there are too many goodies to pass up! We went bushwhacking with our knowledgeable @UnCruise guide and life was a bowl of lingonberries, huckleberries & watermelonberries. #sponsored #UnCruise #foraging pic.twitter.com/ZiGrqthVFG

It's been an epic 6 weeks road tripping Alaska…but to do this state justice, we need an expedition ship to get deep into these fjords! So excited to be joining @UnCruise for a 7-day sail into the Northern Passages & Glacier Bay! #UnCruise #Sponsored

There are no roads to @GlacierBayNPS; a boat is the best way to experience the 65-mile-long bay & get close to Margerie, the huge tidewater glacier. Listening to it crack, shift & calve w/ cannonball splashes is what national park dreams are made of! #sponsored @UnCruise pic.twitter.com/DiGHbevhME

HoneyTrek Gives Back
On every paid campaign, we highlight local environmental causes in our content and give back 5% of our earnings to the places we explore. To do our part for Southeast AK, we donated $100 to the Alaska Conservation Foundation for their work protecting the threatened Tongass National Forest and $100 to the Juneau Icefield Research Program for their efforts to stop climate change. In addition to financial donations, we particpated in the HappyWhale citizen science program by entering our whale fluke photos into their database, which helps this non-profit study the whale’s migration patterns and wellbeing. Through showcasing our UnCruise adventures in this wild swath of the country, our goal was to have our audience fall in love Southeast Alaska and feel inspired to preserve it too.
