Travel Influencers

Virtually everyone has an “Alaska Cruise” on their bucket list and, as a result, mega-ships dominate the market. With such a wild landscape, we wanted to show people a more adventurous and sustainable way to explore the fjords, archipelagos, and surrounding rainforests. The HoneyTrek community trusts us to choose environmentally-minded tour operators who know how to have fun, so UnCruise was the perfect choice. Speaking to a younger demographic and also the RV community who rarely takes to the sea, we showed a new audience how epic small-ship cruising can be. Seizing every opportunity to kayak, stay up late to watch the northern lights, bushwhack the rainforest, and take the Pacific polar plunge, we did our best to capture the Alaskan spirit of adventure. Through our photography, video, blog, and social media posts across all platforms, we reached 634,984 people and engaged 84,674 fans with content that would make any traveler want to hop on an UnCruise.

Below is a sampling of the 88 pieces of content we created for UnCruise across HoneyTrek’s website and social media platforms (with 410,000+ followers).

Travelogue from our Alaska UnCruise

UnCruise Alaska Blog

“Alaska has more coastline than all other U.S. states combined, so even though we just spent five weeks exploring by RV, we knew we had to take to the sea! But we didn’t want to do some big ‘ole cruise ship—we were looking for a company with a strong focus on sustainability and adventure. UnCruise was the ticket. They have more than a dozen routes in Southeast Alaska chock-full, of glaciers, whale-watching, kayaking, skiff safaris, and rainforest bushwhacking, so we couldn’t go wrong. Knowing we wanted to explore Glacier Bay National Park and Alaska’s first capital, we went with the Northern Passages and Glacier Bay Route—a seven-night, 500-mile journey. We are so excited to tell you about this expedition, but unlike most travel blogs it’s not about where we went. Adventure cruising Southeast Alaska is all about seizing the moment and pivoting for wildlife sightings, sunshine, and smooth sailing. Let the adventure unfold!” — excerpt from our 2,800-word and 45-photo blog about our UnCruise experience.

HoneyTrek Gives Back

Bloggers Give Back

On every paid campaign, we highlight local environmental causes in our content and give back 5% of our earnings to the places we explore. To do our part for Southeast AK, we donated $100 to the Alaska Conservation Foundation for their work protecting the threatened Tongass National Forest and $100 to the Juneau Icefield Research Program for their efforts to stop climate change. In addition to financial donations, we participated in the HappyWhale citizen science program by entering our whale fluke photos into their database, which helps this non-profit study the whale’s migration patterns and wellbeing. Through showcasing our UnCruise adventures in this wild swath of the country, our goal was to have our audience fall in love with Southeast Alaska and feel inspired to preserve it too.
