    Hi Guys,

It’s a great place to visit- really unlike any other in the world so you’re going to have such a great time!  It has been about 10 years since I was there, but here are a few recommendations/travel advice (based on what I remember).

If you are in Antananarivo, definitely check out the Zoma (the huge open air market).  I lived with a host family when I was there, but I remember that most visitors prefered to stay in the Hotel de France or the Hilton, both of which are centrally located.

The Ranomafana National Park is beautiful and a good place to see lemurs in their natural habitat.

Nosy Be is a bit tricky to get to (it’s actually a tiny island off the coast of Madagascar) but it has gorgeous beaches that were very untouched when I was there (and hopefully still are!)

Just a couple of travel tips- like most places, all prices there are expected to be bargained (even cab rides).  Generally, the expected price should be about half of their initial offer.

Not sure if any of this is helpful- if there is anything more specific you were wondering let me know!

    Have a great time there!

    – Summer

    1. Summer, those tips are freaking fantastic. Thank you so much for taking the time to write them out, it really means a lot, and we definitely recognize that. How long did you go for?
